What Are You Looking For In 2018
Which group are you a part of, Resolutions or No Resolutions? I am in the No Resolutions Group. Most Resolutions are broken by the end of January, or sooner. I am sure those who made the Resolutions did to intend to break them so soon, but human nature seems to take over.
The year, 2018, offers an opportunity to start things a new or re-do things that we want to make better. Some people in 2018, may start the year living in a new home or a new city or even a new state with perhaps a new job opportunity. I do not believe that anyone is looking for failure, health problems or family challenges in 2018. We all plan for success in 2018. We make our plans, which is a normal part of life; but what about the plans that God has for us? Do we take time to see if our plans are the same plans that God has for us? Proverbs 16:9 A man’s heart deviseth his way; but the Lord directeth his steps. Which set of plans do you think will be better for your life? He is the One that sees the future and knows what is the best thing for our life.
What plans can we set in place to assure that we, at least are striving to seek the plans that God has for us? One place from which to draw one of our plans can be found in Colossians 3:1-2 Seek those things above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. (v2) Set you affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
Can you trust the plans that God has for you?
Jeremiah 29:11 tells us, For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
As we go through 2018, my prayer is that all of us will strive to seek the plans that the Lord has for our life.
Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all thing heart; and lean not on thine own understanding (6) In all they ways acknowledge Him, and he shall direct thy paths.
Have a safe and Blessed 2018!
